Great book, great reader, thank you ❤️ 👏

It's a story about what is now becoming a long time ago, so attitudes and morals were very different to now. I found I was drawn into the yesteryear in my imagination from TV and movie experience of my childhood, but I am old 🙂 and I have that archive to draw on, I do wonder if a younger person would be able to immerse themselves into this though.

This is a beautiful and heart breaking story. The key themes are about a woman's right to choose and to be able to determine how to live her life. Yet even the lives of the main character's detractors are fully realised and appreciated. A well written and thoughtful book. It is very well read; this is done by a lively and engaging reader.

I heard of this author & this book in an interview with the narrator on CraftLit. Her reading of it was fantastic, with good audio quality. The story was poignant and thought-provoking. It was also, I thought, well-written.
