When an alien spacecraft crashes in Missouri a team of army investigators is dispatched. Among the debris they find a Martian infant and decide to raise him in their lab. Is he too strange to form a relationship with humans? Maybe, but he does have cute eye-stalks. – Stamped Caution was first published in the August 1953 issue of Galaxy magazine. Cassic sci-fi.

An entertaining, example of period sci-fi, a fun short listen. Gegg Margarite does an excellent job as usual. He was one of the best at LibriVox. RIP Gregg.

This is such a cute story!

I really needed after that other story I listened to (Scarlet Plague). A cute little alien is raised by a group of humans, and taught all sorts of fun things, like physics, and how to play fetch. Now it is time to take him home. But wait? Why are those aliens capturing the people who saved one of their own? Oct 15, 2014 - Listened to it again because I felt like listening to short stories this week I guess. Enjoyed it again. Reviewed it again because I am a creature of habit. :-) Neat story, I got a big kick out of it. Gregg is a great reader. Enjoy!

Interesting ideas related to the inevitable cultural differences that would complicate first contact. IIRC this story, from the "Golden Age of Sci-fi" takes a very modern approach to the encounter. The negative outcomes of human-to-human first contact are acknowledged and a plan based around enlightened passivity is used. Will it work? Read it for yourself!

Well read. Fun story well paced. A tale that conjectures the Martian and the Earthmen in each other"s world- what might it be like? Thanks!

Stamped listen again.

I actually enjoyed this story very much. I'll be looking for more by this author. Of course the reading was great!

Greg is one of my favourite readers. This short story is one of our inbuilt fears and prejudices of the unknown. Recommended.
