Based on the author's own life, this book tells the story of "little sister". The youngest of eleven, she is unwanted in the beginning. The brother who loved her most, and whom she loved most in the world, is Laddie. She is almost lonely, and it's hard for her to study, so her comfort is nature. In an unforgettable way, which is funny and sad, little sister tells us her story. (Summary by Stav Nisser) (13 hr 51 min)

Love family friends great morals, and the love of God in every paragraph, what more can we ask for out of a story ? The only thing I can think of is a great nar reader This one had it all Definitely worth listening to and maybe even a few more times though out life. awesome!

I love these stories where the people are such wonderful role models

Laddie is a story loosely based on the author’s childhood experiences. It is a little wordy in places, but overall it is written well. Porter tells a story of how the love of God triumphs over hardship. The morals are strong and come through well. I grew up on this book and love it still.

I’d give it 20 stars if I could. A fascinating portrayal of both basic goodness and honest mischief! This story ranks right up there with Little Women. It will make you want to be a better nobler person who finds joy in everyday life. I like the reader, but honey, practice your English accent.

I love this story. it is told with such winsome frankness and good humor on the part of the youngest member of the family that it keeps one's interest. I thoroughly enjoy this author and have read most of her work. I just wish she had written more books!

Wonderful and awesome

These good old-fashioned books just can't be beat. We listened to this on a trip and loved it. Also love the voice of the reader; that may be half of it right there!

Gene Stratton Porter is a top notch writer. Stories with excellent morals that capture the hearts of the listeners from young to old at our house. Thanks to Librivox for offering these good clean books!
