Delightful story!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Normally I prefer books that are read by one person rather than several, but other than one chapter that was not as good quality sound as all the others, the different readers was hardly noticeable. The story was interesting and engaging right from the start and never lagged. I highly recommend it.
Mostly good book

A man stands accused of theft from his uncle who raised him after his parents died. The evidence, a red thumb print in blood, seems infallible. Enter Dr Thorndyke, who has something to say about that. As I listened to the book, it was pretty easy to guess how the book would end, however, it was still entertaining. Readers were mixed, and some recordings are poor. Use equalizer to filter out the tinny sounds.

Well done. Very well written story that kept one's interest. The readers in the letter chapters were better in their reading for clarity and pace.

Just a basic mystery without twists. The first reader sort of mumbles but I just turned the volume up a bit. At least English is her first language so other native English speakers can understand her. Other than that I'm not super picky as I don't need only one reader to be able to enjoy a free audiobook. If you are use Audible instead.
A LibriVox Listener
Having read the story on Ooodles, I was so disappointed by the 1st readers that I could not continue. No matter how I tried to adjust the speed her pace was so garbled she ruined the listening. The Thorndike book is an excellent read. Poorly read. Do encourage using written version of the book. Would hope Libre Vox would redo it.
An entertaining short mystery.

I'm just getting famiiar with this author's work and really enjoying it. For a typical short mystery from that period it wasn't too far fetched, and the readers did an excellent job. I recommend this book for a fun short read.
Excellent Read with great stories interwoven
Another great book by Freeman that takes you through a cut and dry case, and shows the dangers of rushing to judgment without analyzing the data independent of a decision. The characters charm and loyalty warms the heart as well.
Very interesting

I luv it. The characters are so nice. The court scene was entertaining. Readrs are fantastic. The plus point for me is RICHARD KILMER. His voice, narration style is my favorite in all of LIBRIVOX volunteers.
