Karen Savage please read this book
the sweetest!

The story was awesome, but some readers were unintelligible. This would have been a great book for Karen Savage or Sibella Denton to read. I love this series! (Probably good to read the other books first!) happy reading!

This story was quite good. I do prefer books with one reader throughout as each reader expresses each character differently. As soon as I would acclimate myself to a reader, a different one would take up the story. This caused some chapters to be hard to follow because of a lack of expression or a thick accent which kept certain words to mispronounced. This keeps me from awarding this story the full 5 stars.
needs better readers

My stars reflect the reading, not the story itself, which is very charming. Some of the readers are fine, others very tedious to listen to. The last two chapters are especially hard to understand, which is unfortunate as it is the romantic climax of the story. I wish Karen Savage had read all three of the Katy Did books.

This is a really good book, but I prefer to have just one reader for a book. Karen Savage please read this! You are the best.
yes Karen Savage please read this book!

Delightful for me, too much travelog for my 6-year old

I'm grateful for each reader - and delighted to find accents from all over the world, male and female! They did a better job than I could have! I varied the playback speed to accommodate different voices. So many people from all over love these books, too! Susan Coolidge obviously has traveled to all the places Katy visited. As I have visited many of them, too, I was thrilled! As my little girls have too, I will have to get back to this book when they are old enough to appreciate descriptions of nature as much as they do the activities of our heros! What shines about this third book in the What Katy Did series, is the same thing that stands out in the previous two books: that one makes a choice to be kind and sweet regardless of what transpires in one's life.

I read some one's comment that the last two chapters were poorly read. I disagree. And even if they were, I am very grateful to the volunteers. Thank you for your time and efforts. You share the love of reading, bring much pleasure, and lighten many a task. The Katy Did books are a charming and refreshing break in a world of work and worry.
