I liked this little book very much. Christopher Morley must have had a good sense of humor, and also sensibility enough to understand a woman's feelings. Dawn Larsen's portrayal of the main character gave her reality and sweetness, while the clarity of her voice made the story quite enjoyable. Many thanks from a happy listener.
A Treat

I’ve listened through this recording more than once now, and I have to say it is a real treat. The humor and straightforwardness of the story and characters shine through in this excellent reading. Thank you!
Great read, fun book

The reader does an excellent job on this book. The book itself is a fun, light read. It is definitely a Morley book and includes his humor, although subdued compared to his essays.
Wonderful story & reader

What a delightful story and Dawn Larsen is an excellent reader. The premise of the story reminded me a bit of the bookmobile that used to stop in our neighborhood every so often.
Fun, mild, gentle adventure.

First time I have heard a story with an overweight 40 year old female protagonist who knows her own mind and takes an active part in the action. It's very well read.
A bookmobile romance

Fantasy but fun; middle aged woman, stuck on the farm baking bread and taking care of her brother, runs away with a roving bookseller in his horse drawn wagon, and finds true romance.

An excellent reading of an enchanting story. Light-hearted and, at times, laugh out loud hilarious. Anyone that appreciates books, literature, and a simple kind of life should make space in their days for this story.
Delightful
Larisa Moore
Having already listened to The Haunted Bookshop, I was happy to find this prequel, and the reader clearly took as much delight in narrating the story as I did listening to it.
