A thoroughly enjoyable little mystery.

An American playwright in England is captivated by a young woman at first sight. She howerver requires just a bit more. She grants him the task ( through the Agony Column) of writing seven times to make a his case based on her love of mystery and romance. All to the emminent begining of the war, 1914. I actually enjoyed this more than His Charlie Chan

it was a rare thing for me to want to watch a movie or read a book more than once. once I've read the book I know how it is and even though I may have enjoyed it greatly I have no desire to go back and read it again. the agony column is a rare exception in my life. it's a little book that keeps you drawn in from the very first page. it's short, sweet, humorous, and absolutely wonderful. I'm sure others have given a synopsis of the book so I'll spare you mine, but if you should decide to read it you shall not be disappointed. and the reader did an excellent job.

I honestly thought that it was a low-grade spy story, whose ending I saw coming a third of the way through. So I was most pleasantly surprised by how it actually turned out. And I would most definitely give the writer of those letters a chance in person! Reader is very good.

It was a clever mystery that kept me guessing almost to the end. An outrageous and original plot. I can’t say more without possibly a spoiler appearing. Highly recommended. The reader did an excellent job. Thank you.
