Eugenics and Other Evils is a thought-provoking collection of essays by G. K. Chesterton that critiques the eugenics movement of the early 20th century. With his characteristic wit and sharp reasoning, Chesterton challenges the moral implications of eugenics, arguing against the reduction of human life to mere statistics and genetic determinism.

Set against the backdrop of a society grappling with the consequences of scientific advancement, Chesterton's essays delve into the ethical dilemmas posed by the desire to control human reproduction. He employs a blend of humor and serious inquiry to dissect the language and motivations of eugenists, revealing the often hidden dangers of their ideology.

This work stands out not only for its incisive critique but also for its exploration of broader themes such as individuality, morality, and the value of human life. Chesterton's eloquent prose invites readers to reflect on the implications of eugenics, making it a relevant discussion even today.

Wow, really breaks Eugenics down!

(5 stars)

The more I learn about G.K. Chesterton's views, the more I like him. Great book, a little scary if you think about Eugenics today! Reader was pretty good, a little muffled sounding to me but still good.

It is important to know that this was written in England by G. K. Chesterton and published in 1922 by Cassell and Company, Limited. However, this does not mean this book is outdated. Eugenics has always been a very timely subject no matter what year you live in. The reading of the book is superb, also.

Good reading. Chesterton smart on eugenics, but too prejudiced.
