Interesting Story, You Decide

(5 stars)

Thank you for fixing your microphone. This begins as a very well written novel. If you are religious you will probably find many parts of the story relevant and interesting. But if you’re not religious…. Well then please take this as a story written in its time for its own purposes. Not exactly religious propaganda, but some chapters were just too much for this listener. However, we must also consider that classical authors like Tolstoy and Dostoevsky went deep into their own religious beliefs and saturated their works with their own dogma towards the end of their lives. This is a novel, as the title implies, the history of a life. There’s a strong battle between moral forces and values and against those that are not so much. The author had opportunities in writing this novel that were perhaps missed in light of pursuing a religious theme of redemption. Not sure. Looking forward to Mr. Evers next work to be read. As always, thank you so much Simon Evers for your incredible talent and ability in providing us with such wonderful entertainment. I am a fully disabled person who greatly relies upon services like LibriVox to help pass the time.

a text with a strong story line wrapped around issues of spiritual development (or otherwise) of not just David but others with whom his life is entwined. I really enjoyed it. And of course Simon was as ever super.
