After the briefest of training in England and France he joined the 181st Tunnelling Company at Silly-sur-la-Lys in Flanders in January 1916. A Historic True Life Account

There has been recent rediscovery of these mine workings in France and Belgium. It is amazing to hear the words written by someone who was there. A well read account by the volunteer reader and a very harrowing account of this long past piece of military history.
