This novel is an excellent study of human nature, family, genetics, greed and generosity; all wrapped up in an intriguing, exciting, and entertaining story that will keep you listening until the end. Expertly read by Mark Leder, he brings authenticity and realism together with his pacing and performance that makes him a perfect match for Emile Zola’s work. Thank you Mr. Leder for your efforts in bringing us this Nobel Prize Winning French author’s work to our attention.
