Reviews
... a touch too cynical...
BreAnna Teschendorf
Overall, I really enjoyed these stories. They're similar to things you might read by PG Wodehouse, but a little more serious.... or by Kipling, but with much less heart. Absolutely sarcastic and saucy; several of them are really cringe worthy! Several really made me laugh. They were a shade too cynical for me to really love them. But listening made an enjoyable afternoon. Great recording quality. The reader has an enjoyable voice and she "acted" the parts very well. However, She mispronounced "vicar", and "vicarage" repeatedly, which also made me cringe. Also mispronounced the British "row": a quarrel; not pronounced like the American "row" a boat. And a few other words. Oh well.... too bad. But certainly not the ruination of a pretty good book and pretty good reader.
