The House on the Borderland is a captivating fantasy novella by William Hope Hodgson. This adaptation, abridged in four parts by Doreen Estall, brings to life the eerie tale of an old recluse and his strange home in the west of Ireland. The story unfolds as two friends discover a ragged manuscript that reveals the recluse's terrifying experiences with supernatural creatures.

As the narrator and his sister delve into the manuscript, they find themselves besieged by swine-like beings and face a series of harrowing events. From watery entrapments to sinister green hands at the window, the narrative is filled with suspense and otherworldly horror.

Produced for BBC Radio 7 by BBC Northern Ireland, this adaptation is a classic example of early Edwardian sci-fi.
