Tribute to Texas Newsman Porter Randall by David Day


This is a tribute to award-winning, long time Texas radio reporter Porter Randall. Mr. Randall was a reporter for the Texas State Network from the late Thirties to the Mid 70s. At the time of his death, his news was heard on 148 stations of the Texas State Network. He was frequently also heard nationally during WW II. The voice of the narrator is that of David Day, also a long time Texas State Network reporter and award-winning Texas radio newsman. This audio includes some compelling stories about the war days and early Texas radio reporting. The tone and style gives a unique glimpse of a dramatic era of radio in Texas.
