Like Christ
Andrew Murray
Read by Christopher Smith
Andrew Murray wrote this volume as a sequel to his well-known devotional book "Abide in Christ". It is sub-titled "Thoughts on the Blessed Life of Conformity to the Son of God". In his preface, Murray states two objects he had in mind in writing the book. The first was to portray the Son of God as a pattern of what God the Father wants believers to be, in such a way that we can see that being like Jesus is immensely attractive in awakening love, inspiring hope and strengthening faith. The second was to show how likeness to Christ is not a mere ideal, but something very real in life of believers as we reflect His image amid the trials and duties of daily life. - Summary by Christopher Smith (7 hr 43 min)

Eye-opening to hear how often Christ plainly spoke of our being like Him. This book should be reviewed at least once yearly to keep our faith on His promises and provision of His likeness.

This book to me is the need of the hour for believers as the author himself puts it: "It is the one thing that the world needs in these latter days, men and women of Christ-like lives, who prove that they are in the world as He was in the world, that the one object of their existence is nothing other than what was Christ’s object—the glorifying of the Father and the saving of men." "God expects us to strive to speak and think and act exactly like Christ, because the life that is in us is exactly, the same as that which was in Him. ...Christ living in us is the root and strength of Christ’s acting and speaking through us, shining out from us so as to be seen by the world." Thanks to the reader Chris Smith who read as if he was the author. His style makes the book excellent.
Outstanding book read in a manner worthy of it

Christopher Smith’s reading is a gem! Murray is one of my favorite spiritual authors—practically, my spiritual director in this season of my life—and I can think of no better way to ‘abide with Murray’ and be led ever deeper into the reality of our life abiding in Christ than to listen to Smith’s exquisite rendition. I walk and listen to audiobooks a lot. I might just exhaust the entire Murray-read-by-Christopher Smith corpus over the coming year or so. Thank you for your outstanding work, Mr. Smith!!!
wonderful!
