A Garland for Girls
Louisa May Alcott
Read by Lorelle Anderson
"These stories were written for my own amusement during a period of enforced seclusion. The flowers which were my solace and pleasure suggested titles for the tales and gave an interest to the work.
If my girls find a little beauty or sunshine in these common blossoms, their old friend will not have made her Garland in vain." - L.M. Alcott, September, 1887 (6 hr 9 min)

Louisa May Alcott is one of my favorite authors, and this is at her best! Words of wisdom that still ring true for girls, plus a pretty story line. My favorite was 'Poppies And Wheat'. Amazing and beautiful job reading, Lorelle Anderson, and thanks so much!

I hadn't ever heard this compilation of Louisa May Alcott's short stories for girls. The stories were all fine and full of good lessons, typical of the author. The reader was excellent. Well worth the time.

A nice collection of old-fashioned stories in a similar style to Little Women. I found them gentle and uplifting. Thanks to Lorelle Anderson for the reading, which was clear and smoothly done, and I thought the characters’ voices and their different tones were captured very effectively.

These stories can be a bit preachy, and they are written for Middle-Schoolers, so I can't say that they really appealed to me. The narration was very good, though.

Who writes like this anymore? These are not destructive, distopian, discouraging stories, but rather hopeful, sweet and encouraging to those who are thankful for beauty and rest.
Beautiful Blooms

A lovely bouquet of blossoms that will encourage girls both young and old to bloom wither they're planted.
