It is with great disappointment that I find I must pass on this novel even though it sounds so promising. Mr Locke is no doubt a fine fellow and I think the world of him for his altruistic nature, giving so much of his time to be part of the Librivox vision. For the good of posterity Librivox had tasked itself with the small job of translating every book ever written into an audio recording thus making them available to a wider audience. Unfortunately Mr Locke’s narration skills are such that I pass on all of his work. It is a shame because he chooses many novels that I would jump at but must forego. Librivox is come one come all but not everybody who wants to narrate has the ability. I have read scores of reviews from people who felt ripped off because of the refusal of Librivox to set standards of quality with it's volunteers. Mr Locke should not be narrating books. It is costing you readership and the addition of books to the Librivox library which will ultimately need to be redone

Mr. Locke's reading style is not conducive to my ears - had to stop wasting my energy- you can't follow his reading.

Absolutely awful reading by Jim Locke. Dreadful monotone voice, totally lacking inflection and expression. Couldn’t even get through the first chapter. A great disappointment.
