Reviews
great slice of NY history and well told

Excellent narration. The Horatio Algers Jr stories are fascinating windows into late 1800s New York from an author who was there. Many fascinating specifics from how much things cost, to class attitudes and the treatment of children, to how people spoke - what was the vernacular of the different classes.
Alger at his best!
