A great story! Kept me glued. Very good reading too. I like how all the characters were developed except for the eventual villain of the work. Can't tell you why exactly (and no spoilers) but something was different.

This would make a good weekend listen, but please don't expect an epic tale. The authors reading skills, while not horrendous, do leave something to be desired. Go watch Star Trek instead, you'll get more laughs, I recommend the Original Series, Next Generation, Voyager, and the movies. Yes, I am a Trekkie geek (How could you NOT enjoy the cheesiness of Shatner's Captain Kirk, the general old-dude awesomeness of the less-cheesy Captain Picard, the old CGI, for example, in the episode where [SPOILER!!] Tasha Yar dies in NextGen [end spoiler] they use the exact same animation for the black goo person 4+ times. In the original series, a fluffy dog with a horn on it passes as an alien. Spock and McCoy's never-ending friendly rivalry... holy ---- that review was way more nerdy than it was supposed to be. Oh well, can't deny my Trekkie nature!)
I liked it but...
The Reader
Well, It was a good audio book. Only problem is the narration. The person is utterly unemotional. It's a good book just that voice took off one star for it. Good but not good. One more thing. What the heck is with the music. It is not some dance you are at! People's lives are at stake! Totally seems as if the sun isn't part of the book. Or any of the suspense for that matter. That is whg that brought it down another half star. So much potential for this book. Not anymore!

... skip it. The reading was absolutely emotionless, with awkward pauses and inflections ala Shatner's Captain Kirk. The blues music between chapters destroyed the already weak aura of suspense, and the story was predictable to the point that I ALMOST didn't call it because it couldn't have been THAT obvious. ...
