"Rogues of the Black Fury mixes a berserk action thriller sharp as a mercenary's sword with hard-bitten fantasy so gritty it might scour your bones clean by the time you're done." -- Matt Forbeck, author of Carpathia and The Amortals

"Heermann's Rogues is epic, exciting, and a hell of a lot of fun! From the very beginning, the world he crafts feels alive and real. By the last page, I didn't want to leave. Adventure at its finest, honed to a gleaming bloody edge." - Marcus Pelegrimas, author of the Skinners series

"Bold, colorful characters pull the reader into an unforgettable adventure with the perfect mix of suspense, intrigue, and action."
--Jeanne Cavelos, author of The Passing of the Techno-Mages

When a band of shadowy fanatics abducts Javin Wollstone’s little sister, Bella, from his care, his only hope to bring her home is turning to a hard-bitten band of special warriors, Commander Rusk and the Black Furies.

The Black Furies are infamous for their bloodthirstiness, their amorality, their unconventional tactics—and for their success.

Javin follows Rusk and his men as they charge through a maze of political intrigues, religious fanaticism, and centuries of racial distrust in a headlong chase across the high seas to save the girl’s life. Little do they know that little Bella Wollstone’s fate could be the spark that sets off a war of Armageddon.

So much fun

(5 stars)

Absolutely great book. I wish Travis narrated others books on this app. He uses great voices and descriptions to bring characters to life. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this book. I can't wait for the next and I will definitely be donating to the cause! I loved the movement and thought put into the plot. Having said that I did not enjoy the chapters not read by him. The voice was shrill and uneven in volume. Keep up the excellent work Travis!

Started off okay but flattened out

(2 stars)

This book started off okay and I had reasonable hopes that it will turn into a great story. But after a few hours I’ve got a bit bored of it and decided to move onto the next book. It’s not a bad book by any stretch, but It didn’t grab my attention enough for me to warrant spending many more hours listening to what happened. I just didn’t care either way, which is not a good sign.

Fabulous adventure

Loved this adventure, that appears to have a strong grounding in Japanese legend. Therr are penty of fights, friendships, romance, conflict and adversity all wrapped up with backstroke of honour, family, religious zeal and personal struggles. Enough gore to satisfy blood lust, lore to entice, love to engage and history to keep believable.

Audiobook was so good that I told all my buddies about it and ordered a copy for my personal collection. Brought it into the store and now I have customers that are already eager to have their own copy to read. Great stuff man. Everyone is excited for Rusk's book.

What an awesome story! Absolutely edge of you seat stuff! Travis Heerman is an intelligent writer and fantastic reader and the other readers really captured the essence of their characters. If you're going to listen to anything, listen to this.... I'm buying the book do I can read it again!

meh

weak attempt at creating a fantasy universe. Being a veteran of actuve duty i cant stand the seemingly civilian view of things military. mixing obviously modern military slang with your medieval storyline doesnt jive. ok storyline maybe more attention to detail would make it better.

Absolutely Fantastic!! Not a single boring moment, excellent story, dialog and talents make this one of the best I have read, up there with the greats, an instant classic.... looking forward to more books by this author, and hopefully a sequel. Bravo... Kudos

CHRISEY BOY

The story is good, but what is with all the dam music, and the chance of narrator makes it hard to keep track of who is who. All in all not a bad book, thank you for your time..
