A SEEMINGLY BALANCED STUDY OF RICHELIEU
AVID READER
Well read and informative, the study shows that his driving force was always a united and powerful nation as opposed to the multitude of bickering provinces. One can question his methods, but not his success as illustrated by the despotism of Louis IV. It is unfortunate that the author was too lazy to translate the many letters, phrases, and comments which leave the reader feeling like an outsider.
