Plenty of parodies in these half dozen shows starring Henry Morgan, with Arnold Stang getting laughs as the main stooge. None of the supporting cast got credit; it's the reason Betty Garde quit the show. The first five shows originated from ABC's studios in New York. Sadie Corpuscle (the "whispering" gag is a parody of "The Strange Story of Martha Ivers") in the fifth show is Pert Kelton, who was the first Alice Kramden on the Gleason show on DuMont. The other female cast member is Elsie Mae Gordon, who was Mrs. Prawn on the Fred Allen show. In the sixth show, broadcast from Hollywood, Joe Kearns steps on Morgan's story by introducing Arnold Stang's Gerard. Veola Vonn is Lorraine, the French woman in the weather sketch. The ad agency sketch with Morgan and Kearns was written with Morgan's New York announcer Charlie Irving in mind because Morgan calls Joe "Charlie" at one point; Irving was in the agency sketches when the show was in New York. (The dub is running too fast). Bernie Green's oddball arrangements are lots of fun.
