radio?
dwayne485
Some of these sound like they're actually the soundtracks of TV commercials, like the Rice-A-Roni and Ajax ads. And I'm wondering if that Coney Island Penny Machine ad ever actually played on radio? BTW to answer someone's question about the Coke ads...did they even use jingles before the 1960s? Everything I've heard in OTR were spoken commercials and their "Refreshment Time" instrumental theme that began their shows, but the oldest radio jingles I've ever heard are the 1960s "Things Go Better With Coke" ads. I know they used "Bring Home the Coke" as a TV jingle in the 1950s but I haven't heard a radio version of that. Pepsi, OTOH, got a leg up during the 1940s with "Pepsi Cola hits the spot..." Nice selection.
Radio Is Changing (again)!

20 years from now, I wonder if we will look back and see and great ads from present day. Traditionally radio has been 60-seconds in length but that is changing due to shortened attention spans and increased media competition. In short, creativity may suffer due to lightning fast commercials. http://www.dsvmedia.com/
SALHAPATICA
pkkms
The Salhapatica commercial is a hoot...Fred Allen introduces Harry von Zell to do the commerical and Harry forgets the name of the product during the commercial....good stuff. von Zell also gained notoriety for once introducing President Hoover as Hoobert Heever.
