One is entitled to their own opinion, not their own facts.

This brief rememberence of the '50s decade was an enjoyable listen. However, "Venona" does not prove that this poor excuse for a human being, McCarthy, was at all correct. This despicable cretin, McCarthy, had no list of names and continued to lie to the U.S. House Committee and the American public on a daily basis. He was simply grasping at straws in a feeble attempt to resurrect his failing political career at the expense of up to 150 of his fellow citizens. McCarthy was shameful and shameless, and he deserves his disdain historic reputation. We've witnessed similar disgusting behavior from too many politicians over the last 30+ years.
Interesting nostalgic look

This was fun to listen to, a hindsight glance at the 50s. I was right there until he dogged McCarthy, who has since been proven correct by Venona, but that is entirely besides the point. Listen to this short piecefor that faint whiff of the time that is so enticing, especially now.

I was 11 on January 1, 1950. I remember that decade as the decade I became me. I'm now 72 and I have seen a lot. If we could only go back and know what we know now, we would have a much different time.
My two cents

nicely read prose, a stroll down memory lane. yes, some of the "facts" asserted to have been proven incorrect, but I still found this enjoyable.
