The series was originally called "Billy Rose's Jumbo", sponsored by Texaco gasoline and braodcast on NBC on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. It starred Jimmy Durante, Donald Novis, Gloria Grafton, and Arthur Sinclair, and was based on the hit movie of the same name. The first episode, "Trouble with the I.R.S." was broadcast October 29, 1935. There were originally 19 episodes in the series, 12 of which are reported still in existence.
